My way of travel is to walk around a lot, rather than just head for all the instagram spots, that way I occasionally find interesting places, but if I don't I at least get heat exhaustion and exercise :)

It really depends on the immigration people. We never do a 'visa run' though, that is gaming the system, we try to obey the rules as we understand them. The fact is if we get turned away, we will just spend the money in another country. Be that Thailand, or maybe Brunei where my Son is or the Philippines where we also have family. But, we love being in Malaysia most of all and always try to enjoy what the country offers.
Some nice art and always fun to hit the local spots.

You should go back to DD and ask the cashier your lost items. Usually Malaysian will pass any unown items to the cashier.
It's too late I'm in Johor. It appeared on find my phone briefly in another part of the island. It's lost I move on.
If you can access that phone again, you could wipe it clean and block the phone so no one can use it.

I don't feel Penang is a foreign land, but yes, losing things is annoying as hell. The worst thing is I don't know if someone picked my pocket at the airport or it fell out of my pocket at the airport.. It did show up on Find My Phone in Penang in Georgetown a few days later as I was boarding, so too late to try and track it down.
